Welcome to my portfolio.

Multimedia Editor & Senior Reporter
I’m Allison Waytowich, a multimedia journalist who reports, writes, films, and edits my own stories. I’m particularly interested in broadcast journalism and interview-based storytelling, and I enjoy writing about things that matter, including identity, travel, loss, and how people make sense of their experiences. My work ranges in tone; some pieces are personal and reflective, while others are lifestyle-based or pop-culture oriented. I also have a strong interest in travel writing and visual storytelling, especially through video editing and short-form content creation on TikTok. Across writing, video, and multimedia work, I aim to create journalism that feels relevant, thoughtful, and authentic, and that encourages people to be more attentive to the world around them.

Ethics
As a journalist, I care deeply about accuracy, fairness, and accountability. I take the time to verify information, give proper credit, and tell stories with clarity and context. No matter what I’m working on—news, opinion, or multimedia—I aim to create work that’s responsible, thoughtful, and earns the trust of my audience.
Experience
After earning my degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture from Western University in 2023, I chose to continue building my journalism skills at Humber College, where I’m currently completing my Postgraduate Certificate in Journalism. At Humber, I’m gaining real newsroom experience while developing core reporting skills and expanding my abilities in broadcast, digital, and investigative storytelling. The program progresses from fundamental reporting and multimedia production to advanced newsroom training, concluding with a 200+ hour industry field placement where I’ll apply these skills in a professional newsroom environment.
Before this program, I completed a 12-month Corporate Communications & CSR internship at Mercedes-Benz Canada’s head office. In this role, I gained hands-on experience supporting large-scale media campaigns, international press trips, and high-impact corporate events. From media tracking and content creation to strategic communications and event logistics, I contributed to projects that reached audiences across Canada. This experience helped me refine and understand the impact of clear, intentional storytelling. Within this portfolio, you'll find samples of my journalism and multimedia work, including feature articles, video stories, essays, and editing projects.
